Right after dancing the final of Profesional Ballroom at Blackpool, Marat Gimaev and Alina Basyuk asked Markus Hilton to read a letter announcing their retirement. Marat and Alina danced the farewell Foxtrot to the standing ovation.

Dear Friends,
Tonight, in front of you, we would like to announce that we retire from competitive dance. We couldn't dream of a better place and time but here and now. For us this is a priceless moment. We feel very lucky and priviledged that Ballroom dance once became our live. Here we got so many possibilities to learn, to explore, to create and to meet so many incredible people. We owuld like to use this opportunity to thank you all, our dear teachers, for all your knowledge, inspiration and love to dance... Our fellow dancers for constant challenge and for the fun we had together.... Our sponsors who were always there for us. And also all the fans of Ballroom dance all around the world who shared the same passion for so many years. And of course we thank our families, our Mums, our Dads, Grandpas and Grandmas, brothers and sisters... Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, we had a magical time and we look ahead, with great anticipation, to have a chance to give back this wondderful world that gave us so much. Let there be music, dance and love.
