Congratulations for Melinda and Maurizio for their first European Championship title! You have worked very hard for many years to achieve this.

Melinda, Maurizio, gartulálok az első Európa Bajnoki címetekhez! Rengeteget dolgotatok érte az évek során, sokan valószínűleg nem is sejtik, mennyit ér az a sok fantasztikus eredmény amit elértek.

Congratulations to IDSF  for fullfilling the Olympic Dream.

A proof  to sceptics and non-believers  that dancesport shall never be in an Olympiad :  " We can make it happen  !!!"  We did it !

Jazz,

In itself I don't see anything wrong with calling a competition "Olympiad" - for example there are a number of "student olympiads" even in mathematics etc. Are you sure that when the organizers chose this name they had in mind what you refer to?

Hi Peter

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, the IDSF can never win whatever they do. There are some who hate this organisation so much that they will pick up on anything that is said in order to try and discredit them. This Olympiad thing is just one of probably many.

For my part it only serves to show up these people for what they really are - vindictive. Even if the IDSF do something that is approved any acknbowlefgement is likely to be grudging.

Best wishes

Steve

Perhaps I was  misunderstood.

Once those who criticise IDSF for their vision to have dancesport included in Olympic Games / "Olympiad"  stop,   the better.

I completely agree with you that there is nothing wrong calling a competition whatever you wish, and have suggested that now, since IDSF had their Olympiad, some of the sceptics can accept , that IDSF  may  have had their Olympiad,  'problem solved' ,  anything is possible, even you  can make it happen.

Is it not the time to see what IDSF and WDC have  in common rather that focusing where they differ ?

@Keggs

If I belonged to IDSF haters and vindictive people,  as you suggested, I  would not have

a)  cheered  for  this  "disaster" -  if I may borrow the very words of  Dancesport-addict (who wrote under a different thread): " the Olympiad 2008 was a disaster in every possible way".

b)  defended and continue to defend IDSF against their "haters"

From my side,  ' this Olympiad thing'  WAS NOT  'one of probably many' ...(attacks on IDSF) ,  but you are correct that there may be  more people feeling the same way as  Dancesport-addict.

( sorry for  the departure from Peter's main intend of  this  thread , and my  hat off   fpr  the Hungarian / Italian   Latin Champions )
