Log In and Log Out.

I belong to several different forums....................yes I am "fortunate" that I have the time.

On one they have No "Log In" and "Log Out" facility.  Once you Log In that is that.  It might  just help in controlling people who want to make nice posts under one name and "flame/troll " under  another.

I realise tht it is not fool proof and there are many people who have more than one computer available at home/work and internet cafes.

Polkadancer,

 

from security perspective what you mention is not a good practice. What happens if you go to a web cafe, log in, start to post, then leave, then somebody comes a few hours later, and starts posting in your name because you are still logged in?

Peter I realised there were problems 

 

What you describe happened to me.  Not in a web cafe but in an airport lounge.  I made a post on a thread only to find I had posted under another name!  Immediate quick embarrassed apology from me then!. Do not want others blamed for my thoughts :-)
